Clare Geological is a family run consultancy company, run from their vineyard office in the Clare Valley, South Australia. The Company comes with extensive experience and varied expertise in exploration and early phase, mining project development.

Dr Gavin England

Qualified Geologist with over 20 years in industry and /or academia experience. Worked in the fields of mineral exploration / project development, as well as petroleum geology in both Australia and UK. Dr England has a extensive knowledge base in his field and is a member of AIG and AusIMM.

Dr England received an BSc (Hon) in geology from Curtin University, Perth (1994), and a PhD at the University of Western Australia (2001), where he developed expertise in conglomerate gold-uranium mineralisation. His work on the Witwatersrand Basin, South Africa has been published in numerous journal articles. Dr England was also a researcher for 3 years at University of Edinburgh, UK, where he worked in the areas of  reservoir geology and nuclear waste disposal.

In the mining industry, Dr England has worked as a geologist / manager or consultant for junior and mid tier mining companies in Australia (Gold Fields, Lion Ore, Impact Minerals, White Cliff Nickel, EMA, Integra Mining, Consolidated Minerals, Normandy); in a variety of commodities and geological terranes; and from greenfield exploration to mine development. Most recently (past 8 years), he was the chief geologist and then general manager of the Mawson Iron Project for Magnetite Mines (Royal Resources). While Dr England was managing the development of Razorback Iron Project, Royal Resources won “Best Emerging Company” at Diggers and Dealers in 2010.

Rose Preston

Rose Preston has a BSc degree (Majoring in Geology) from Curtin University and has worked in both petroleum and mining industries for over 15 years (Sperry, Halliburton, Sauter Consulting, Royal Resources) as well as raising two children and managing the family vineyard. Most recently, Rose has been involved in administrative geology, providing junior exploration companies her expertise in database management and regulatory reporting to the government.
